Verse 1
Rylan, there's a laugh we share,
Turns an ordinary day to gold.
May you keep that spark about you,
Never trade it just to fit the mould.
Chorus
Go where the morning takes you,
Build a life that feels your own.
You don't have to earn my loving,
There'll always be a light left on.
Verse 2
Braxton, find your feet beneath you,
Learn to stand and still be kind.
May the strength you grow inside you
Leave some room to change your mind.
Chorus
Go where the morning takes you,
Build a life that feels your own.
You don't have to earn my loving,
There'll always be a light left on.
Verse 3
Declan, chase that puck across the ice,
Let the cold air fill your lungs.
May you find as much to run toward
When those skates have been outgrown.
Bridge
I can't promise easy weather,
I won't choose the roads you take.
But I'll listen when you call me,
Love you through your own mistakes.
Final chorus
Rylan, Braxton, Declan,
Build a life that feels your own.
You're the best part of my living,
There'll always be a light left on.
Outro
Go and make this world your own.
I'll leave a light on.
First Light · 001
Single / 001
An acoustic-pop song about starting again, one small step at a time.
Generated locally with YuE2.
Verse
I left my worries by the door
They do not own me anymore
The morning spills across the floor
And I am learning what it is for
Chorus
One small step into the light
One more song to hold tonight
There is a road beneath my feet
And a steady heart that keeps the beat
Verse
The city wakes in shades of gold
A thousand stories still untold
I take the long way past the trees
And let the daylight find me here
Chorus
One small step into the light
One more song to hold tonight
There is a road beneath my feet
And a steady heart that keeps the beat
Outro
One small step into the light
I am coming home tonight
